Kee Systems has provided the University of York with safety railings for an old footbridge which links the north and south sides of its Heslington West Campus. The Vanbrugh footbridge was built over 50 years ago and recent inspections revealed it was suffering from a string of problems. To ensure the safety of its students and staff, the University required a safety solution to be installed along the sides of the bridge.
Yorkshire based construction engineer, SCD Group Ltd was the main contractor for this project and invited Kee Systems to assess the safety of the bridge. Following a site visit, the Kee Systems team designed, supplied and installed a permanent handrail system made of galvanised Kee Klamp® Key Clamps fittings.
More information about this project is available in our News section.
