Installation of Kee Klamp for East West Railway

Company News

We recently completed the installation of 8000m of Kee Klamp safety handrails for the East West Railway Project running between Oxford and Bicester.

This complex installation met the design requirement from Network Rail for 1250mm high guardrail achieving a 400 n/m design load.  Various fixing methods were also required throughout the project – the majority being fixed onto steel capping beams using BoxBolts.

Kee Klamp® Key Clamps fittings are versatile and suitable for use in a variety of areas where tubular structures or barriers are required such as in stations or along tracks. The off-the-shelf product range is the largest on the market and is available with a combination of protective coatings to achieve a longer life and a better corrosion resistance. This is vital for structures in areas which may be prone to a high level of weathering or rusting, and structures which are in difficult places to access and work on.

Kee Klamp® Key Clamps components can be installed using a standard hex key with each fitting incorporating an integral set screw to lock the respective fitting safely and securely onto the tube. Not only does this method create a strong, stable and safe guard rail structure, it also eliminates the need for time-consuming welding or specialist installation skills.
