Kee Systems and the rail industry have been working together for over eighty years, with us providing our Kee fittings for various applications to make sure that everyone who accesses the rail system on a daily basis is fully protected.
We believe Kee fittings are so popular thanks to their flexibility and convenience, being a modular system made from hot-dip galvanised steel, capable of being installed in almost any conceivable configuration.
Most importantly, we want to make sure everyone can access the railway when necessary, and to that end we supply and install the DDA-compliant Kee Access® system.
Kee Access® is designed to meet the needs of the DDA (Disability Discrimination Act, now the Equality Act) and gives a smooth handrail with size 7 tube with an outside diameter of 42.4mm. The fittings can be powder coated in a choice of RAL colours to meet the visibility and “not cold to the touch” requirements of the DDA.
The Access® series provides safe access for all to the railways in the UK without sacrificing the trusted and proven protective pedigree of the Kee Klamp® Key Clamps range.

Kee Access®: access for all
During the huge refurbishment of Staines railway station, designers came to us to supply the Kee Access® product, knowing it was truly the most effective solution, and the best way to bring the staion into line with the Equality Act.
And with the help of railway engineering contractor GRAMM Interlink Rail, project architects BPR and Southwest trains, 100 metres of Kee Access® was installed at the station to complement wide automatic doors and step-free access to both platforms.
“Safety was our foremost concern when selecting the access ramp at the front of the station, and Kee fittings were just right for the job,” Steve Lee, Senior Construction Manager at GRAMM Interlink Rail, said at the time. “It’s a solution that’s quick and easy to put together, making it a very cost-effective approach”.
