Founded in 1946 Kee Systems has, for the past 70 years, been providing solutions for a wide range of sectors including education, highways, rail, retail, hospitality and sports, to name but a few.
The early success of the company was down to original owners, Geoff Hayes and then Roger Parker who bought the company in 1990. Roger had been Kee Systems’ General Manager since the 1970s and was instrumental in establishing us as a leading distributor of Kee Klamp® Key Clamps fittings.
A main part of our business was the supply of guardrails for schools but during the 1970s and 80s the focus changed to the retail and clothing sectors where there was a high demand for clothing rails and mobile garment racks. Kee Klamp® Key Clamps is still a popular choice in these sectors and over the years we have worked with a number of famous companies including Liberty, Levi Strauss and Angels Costumes, who was recently awarded a BAFTA for outstanding British contribution to cinema. Our Kee Klamp® Key Clamps racks have been used for many years by Angels and now help to form 8 miles of hanging space for the company’s many costumes.
When safety became a priority, the versatility of Kee Klamp® Key Clamps fittings enabled us to grow from being a supplier of tube and fittings to a provider of safety barriers and handrails. Over the years this has become a substantial part of our business and we have supplied and installed DDA compliant handrails for schools and rail stations, safety barriers for roads and trackside safety fences for the railways. Recent projects have included safety guardrails for Carillion and Buckingham Group on the Oxford to Bicester East West Railway, Kee Access® DDA handrails at Hayle Station, safety guardrails on the A23 between Handcross and Warninglid, and a combination of Kee Klamp® Key Clamps and DDA compliant handrails for the University of Brighton.
The past 70 years has seen us diversify into a wide range of sectors and grow into an experienced provider of safety barriers, railing and handrail solutions. Thanks to the versatility of fittings such as Kee Klamp® Key Clamps our success can only continue. Who knows what the next 70 years will hold for us?
